Description: 

Increasing glazed areas of a building to maximise view quality can lead to increased energy consumption due to increased incident solar radiation. In this context, this applet incorporates simulation of view quality, and energy consumption, and multi-objective optimisation using a genetic algorithm to explore trade-off solutions that minimise energy consumption while maximise view quality. All simulation and interactive optimisation routines were built in Processing from entirely scratch.
